US-2 aircraft replaced the US-1A. It had been developed for 8 years,
US-2 aircraft replaced the US-1A. It had been developed for 8 years,
as a way of improving the flight maneuverability during both take off and
landing on the waer, as well as environments requiring emergency transport of patients.
The fisrt flight was in 2003, with deployment to the JMSDF starting in 2007.
PS-1
The PS-1 was the JMSDF's maritime patrol aircraft which was able to take off and land on the rough sea with a wave height of 3m. It was also able to take off from the water with a low speed of approx. 83km/h. Its first flight was in 1967.
